90 years after founding the interim governmen

13th of this month is the 90th anniversary of founding the interim government in Shanghai, China. The interim government which succeeded the spirit of 3.1 movement was the first republic government of our country. The present constitution also declares Korea has succeeded spirit of the interim government. Actually it is not too much to say that the interim government established the cornerstone of our country.

 

The interim government continued independence movement untill Japan surrenderred in 1945. It arranged assassin of Japan oppressors operated by Lee and Yoon. It raised independence army against Japanese colonist and tried to recognise our independence from other countries. It called our country as the Republic of Korea at first time. It struggled to escape from persistent pursuit under really bad financial problem. After independence people from it gave their life for holding indepence. They opposed trusteeship.

 

Many organisations have held various event to celebrate 90th anniversary. Especially in 13th, commemorations were held in LA, Seoul, etc. Presidnet Lee underlined "the interim government is the origin of ROK" and emphasized to overcome present global economic crisis with cooperaion which is motto of the interim government in Seoul commemoration. On the same day government announced to build a shrine which can hold 20 thousands memorial tablet and implemented measurement to honor patriots to commemorate their doing.

 

It is why we honor their spirits that their honorable doings also have meanings at this time. As President declared we will overcome this crisis if we could model pariotic sentiment of our ancestors who gave their life to regain sovereign of our country under harsh circumstances. We are here because of ancestors' sacrifice. We should bear in mind that our descendants wil enjoy prosperity when we commemorate our ancestors unselfish doings.

 

To commemorate it we should do more to enhance treatment descendants of patriots and to implement measurement of restoring the places where patriots doing. We feel shame that many descendants live in bad and poor circumstances because patriot couldn't care of their children. We also strengthen efforts to search the tomb of patriot, Ahn Joong Keun, and to pick out covered activities of many patriots.
